- The South Texas Regional Airport (the “Airport”) hereby notifies the general public and all interested parties that the City Council of the City of Hondo (the “City’) is seeking and will consider sealed bids for the lease of all or part of 237 acre-feet per annum of Base Irrigation Edwards Aquifer water rights (“Water Rights”) authorized pursuant to EAA permit no. P100-860 for one or more calendar years and intends to enter into one or more leases as described in this Request for Bids (“RFB”) .

Request for Release of Funds
On or about 10/11/22, the City of Hondo will submit a request to the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) Office of Rural Affairs for the release of 2021 Community Development Funds under Section 104(f) of Title 1 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 as amended, to undertake the project known as Downtown Revitalization Project Number CDM21-0402 to repair deteriorated and non-ADA-compliant sidewalks that result in hazardous pedestrian travel. Description: Contractor shall reconstruct approximately 996 LF of concrete sidewalks, 917 LF of curb and gutter, pavement repair, 13 ADA ramps, related pavement repair, and all associated appurtenances, to include Administration and Engineering services and fees at the following locations: On Avenue K from 17th Street to 18th Street; On Avenue M from 17th Street to 18th Street; and on 17th Street from Avenue K to Avenue M, Hondo, Medina County, TX. If funding allows an additional segment will be added on 18th Street from Avenue M to Avenue K.Grant amount $350,000, City of Hondo General Fund $52,500; Total estimated project cost $402,500.
Finding of No Significant Impact
The City of Hondo has determined that the project will have no significant impact on the human environment; therefore, an Environmental Impact Statement under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) is not required. Additional project information is contained in the Environmental Review Record (ERR), which will be made available to the public for review electronically or by U.S. mail. TxCDBG Intent to Apply Wastewater:
The City of Hondo is giving notice of the city's intent to submit a Texas Community Development Block Grant Program grant application for a Community Development Fund grant request of $350,000 for city-wide sewer system improvements at the waste-water treatment plant. The application is available for review at the City Hall during regular business hours.
