Street Sweeper Schedule:

Monday-Wednesday all streets South of US 90
Wednesday - Friday all streets North of US 90
The street sweeper completes the entire City of Hondo in one week.
Weather and special events may alter the schedule.

Emergency Street Repair
Pot holes, rough roads, downed trees and missing signs should be reported to Public Works. If in an emergency please call the non emergency police dispatch.

Drainage Maintenance
City crews maintain and clear dirt and debris from drainage channels, as needed, to allow water to flow unrestricted

Hours of operation:
7:00 AM to 4:00 PM 

The Street Department is responsible for all maintenance and repairs of the city streets. The department consists of ten employees including a superintendent, crew leader equipment operators, and street laborers. The Street Department performs maintenance on 53.3 miles of street within the city limits of Hondo.

The duties of the Street Division are the following:
  • Repair damaged or missing street signs
  • Street maintenance of pothole repairs, crack sealing, tree trimming
  • City right-of-way mowing and cleaning
  • Drainage ditch maintenance
  • Utility cut repair
  • Inlet cleaning, street cleaning and street sweeping
  • Remove objects from streets
  • Sidewalk & curb & gutter repairs
  • Pavement stripping
  • Citizen issue resolution

All traffic lights in the state highway in the city limits are maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation. If you notice that a traffic light is not working contact Texas Dot office at 830-426-2522 or after hours, The Police Department at 830-426-5353.
