These programs help children develop their literacy and reading skills prior to beginning school and help their parents, grandparents, and caregivers learn ways to further develop those skills at home.

Studies also show that the availability of books at home and reading are major indicators of future success in school and in life. The library allows families to borrow books freely rather than having to purchase those books.

Additionally, learning does not start when we begin school nor end when we complete school. The library provides many avenues to continue to learn no matter one's age - from the manipulatives, toys, and games for our youngest patrons to materials, computers, and programs for almost everyone else.
